This article will help you integrate your eClinicalWorks (eCW) instance with your Documo account. Setup takes a few steps on your side and a few on ours.
Step 1: Get your App Activation Code
Reach out to your account manager for the Documo App Activation Code.
Step 2: Add the Documo app to your eCW instance
1. Log into the eCW EMR and open the Admin menu.
2. Click the Production Activation button and locate FHIR APIs.
3. Click Settings on the FHIR APIs option to open the FHIR APIs dashboard.
4. Click Set up and choose Provider Centric Apps.
5. Paste the App Activation Code into the Add New App tile and click Add.
Step 3: Documo approves the connection
Your account manager will approve the app integration on our side. Once approved, an Activate button will appear in your eCW instance.
Step 4: Activate the app and enable your users
1. Click Activate.
2. Enable each user who will sign in to eCW through Documo. Go to Admin → Product Activation → FHIR APIs → Settings → App Configuration, find the Documo app under Provider Centric Apps, and enable each provider or user.
This step is required. Activating the app for your practice does not enable individual users. Any user who is not enabled here will not be able to sign in.
Step 5: Finish setup in Documo
Your account manager will add your eCW URL to the Documo app to finish setup. Once all steps are complete, you can use the document processor to send documents to eCW.
Troubleshooting
"FHIR app authentication is not enabled" when signing in to eCW from Documo
This means the user has not been enabled for the Documo app in eCW. Your eCW admin needs to enable that user by going to Admin → Product Activation → FHIR APIs → Settings → App Configuration and enabling them under the Documo app. Once enabled, the user can try signing in again. If the error continues after the user is enabled, contact eCW support.
The screen resolution warning that may appear on the same login page is unrelated to Documo and can be ignored.
