Fax Machine Connectors (FMC) and FaxBridge Devices
- Types of Physical Devices
Documo currently sells ONLY FMC devices. In 2024, we stopped selling Fax Bridges and started selling FMC devices due to better operational experience and device quality. You can identify what type of device you have by the device code, FaxBridge device codes begin with a 2 and FMC devices begin with a 9 in the Documo portal.
- Usable Life
Similar to other hardware like computers, the usable life of these devices can be up to 4 years in length. We have seen devices go longer. Like any hardware, factors that shorten lifespan are heat, dust buildup, power fluctuations, and heavy workloads.
- Warranty Coverage
All Fax Machine Connector (FMC) devices sold by Documo are covered by a limited one (1) year warranty beginning on the date of purchase ("Warranty Period"). During the Warranty Period, Documo warrants that the device will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and in accordance with Documo's published documentation and guidelines.
FaxBridge devices, which were discontinued from sale in 2024, remain subject to this same one (1) year limited warranty from their original date of purchase, provided the Warranty Period has not yet expired.
- Product Shelf Life
Following the expiration of the applicable Warranty Period, all devices — including both FMC and FaxBridge units — carry a recommended operational shelf life of two (2) years ("Shelf Life Period"). The Shelf Life Period begins during the start of the Warranty Period and ends one (1) years thereafter, for a total recommended usable lifespan of two (2) years from the original date of purchase.
Documo does not warrant or guarantee device performance during the Shelf Life Period, but will provide support on a commercially reasonable, best-effort basis.
- Out-of-Warranty and End-of-Life Devices
Upon expiration of both the Warranty Period and the Shelf Life Period, devices are considered end-of-life. For any device that is out of warranty and experiencing operational issues, Documo cannot guarantee that troubleshooting steps, software updates, or technical support measures will resolve the reported issue. In such cases, Documo will often recommend replacing the device with a current, supported model.
Documo shall bear no liability for losses, damages, or service interruptions arising from the continued use of out-of-warranty or end-of-life devices.
- Warranty Exclusions
This limited warranty does not cover:
- Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, unauthorized modification, or repair
- Damage caused by use outside of Documo's published operating specifications
- Damage resulting from power surges, electrical faults, or acts of nature
- Normal wear and tear
- Devices with removed or altered serial numbers
